Magick in the Mundane

My big sis Djenn and I are sick of all these mamby pamby magazines geared towards the velvet clad wiccan wannabes. So instead of bitching about it, we are creating our own zine!

Magick in the Mundane

It's for everday people like me with real jobs and real responibilities who do magick 24/7 and not just in circle. It's for the thirty something crowd who have begun to see beyond our own noses and are living as we want. We are not quite old enough to be Sage Women yet, but we know enough to be able to nod and smile at the cute little Teen Witches.

The zine will be all inclusive as we are melting pot pagans. We want to get back to the basics, explain why we do what we do, and give some real substance to the airy fairy crystal sucker trends we have been seeing in Pagan publications.

Our first quarterly issue will be coming out in February for the Spring quarter of March April & May. We are publishing this ourselves, so it will be a bit rustic and black and white. I hope to look back in a few years at the vintage editions and see how far we've come.

Blinded by the stage lights!

This was clipart I found and of course had to modify!

The original woman had some kind of goofy swimsuit on and a friggin' tiara. That so had to go! I added the belly dance costume and changed the colors a bit. It's still a work in progress..first draft and all...

Yep this is me! Belly Dancing Exotic Feline Fanatic. Some day I want to belly dance in Vegas with big tigers on stage. Followed by fabulous drag queens and an all women gospel choir singing Motown hits and broadway show tunes. You also gotta have half naked fire eaters and those guys in tights from Cirque Du Soleil spinning on ropes hung from the ceilings.

I don't want much ;)

Running Away from Home

I need to run away from this land I've called home for so long. Its done with me...just wish I could convince my landlords of that...damn lease. So I'm stuck here for another year.

I hear tickets to Graceland are sold out and since New Orleans is still under the weather, I'm thinking about going to Bloomington, Indiana. Why Bloomington!!!! Well it's got a lot of things I like, people I know and its a hop skip and a jump from the Exotic Feline Rescue Center. Yeah, in the middle of little ol' Indiana, there is a place that has over 175 tigers, lions, mountain lions, leopards, bobcats, cervals, lynxs, and more. Can you imagine growing up in Indiana near the rescue center and falling asleep to the roar of lions and tigers at night?

My car just can't handle the 2.5 hour drive from Lafayette, so I can't volunteer to help care for these big kitties very often. It's only a 35 min drive from Bloomingtom. I need a change. Been in one place too long!
