Cognitive Ethology

Cognitive Ethology: The study of how animals in their natural habitats think.
I think I'm in love. :)

Ever read a book that completely floors you and you get another piece of the puzzle that you call your life?

The Emotional Lives of Animals by Marc Bekoff is one of those books. Suddenly all of the little disjointed parts of what I want to be when I grow up came together. I want to study the play behavior of all the different species of feline and understand the social dynamics of these social and solitary predators. I want to study the evolutionary patterns of behavior as each species developed on different continents. And I want to develop theories about the potential evolution and eventual domestication of the big cats as the continue to be breed in captivity.

Now when do those classes start?

I did get a thousand dollar scholarship from Purdue...its part of their adult student program...get old, write surly essays about how life has kicked you in teeth a few times and people give you money...go figure :)
